| About Our School |
|
Welcome to our school website. Brampford Speke Church of England Primary School has been open since April 1868 and since that time has seen many changes to its buildings and the education offered to our pupils.
In 2005 the school was modernised with the removal of a temporary classroom and the construction of a new classroom, integrated into the existing school buildings. More recently we have enhanced our Early Years outdoor space which is shared with our successful on site pre-school. In 2009 we built a new multi purpose outdoor pavilion which has been used as a wonderful resource for shelter, play, outdoor learning and performances.
We were inspected by OFSTED at the end of 2007 and they judged us to be a ‘good’ school: 'This school provides a good education for its pupils. A particular strength is the very effective pastoral care it provides for its pupils. The pupils are very well known to the staff and this contributes significantly to their good personal development. The pupils enjoy coming to the school. There is a strong family ethos and they feel safe, well looked after, and able to have an impact on the school and wider community. Most parents comment positively about the provision the school makes for their children. One parent wrote, for example, 'My daughter's progress has been outstanding and she thoroughly enjoys her time at school.' Another commented, 'My children are both very happy and enjoy the family atmosphere provided by this village school.'
We have small mixed-age classes and together with the supportive environment created by the staff, governors, parents and the whole village community we aim to provide a learning environment within which your child can develop his or her potential. Your child is very important to you. We want your child to be special at school as well as at home. We offer a wonderful and rich learning environment in the heart of the countryside yet only within a few miles of Exeter.
